Last May 23th, during the DCD Madrid celebration, Raquel Figueruelo, Interxion Marketing Director and Ricardo Abad, Quark Managing Director, gave us their vision about the situation of the Data Center sector in Madrid, the impact of the Cloud business on it and introduced as Case Study the new Interxion MAD3 center, the first Data Center in Spain designed to provide service to the Cloud Services Providers (CSP).
Its main distinguishing features are its location very close to the city centre, its great connectivity thanks to 90 operators, the higher power density available which makes it possible to accommodate high-density environments and the construction costs optimization, through the use of new and innovative topologies of the different installations.
The presentation included some spectacular images obtained from the BIM modeling of the new Data Center, whose design has been the subject of more than 8,000 hours of engineering.
