In the ceremony held at the Secretary of State for the Information Society and Digital Agenda and inaugurated by Secretary of State Jose Maria Lassalle Ruiz, Ricardo Abad, Managing Director of Quark, was awarded as Data Center Executive of the year 2017 in recognition of the work and involvement during his career in the implementation of ICT technologies to obtain energy efficiency and sustainability.
After collecting the prize, Ricardo addressed a few words to the attendees that we reproduce below.
“First of all, I would like to thank the 54 companies of the platform for granting me this recognition, which I value very much, given that most of these companies are clients, partners, suppliers and even competitors, so I understand that we should be doing it well.
I am aware that I am here because I am the visible face of a team of professionals who form Quark, without whom I would not have the capacity to do the things we do. A team that is currently living its best professional moment, so I would like to send a message of optimism to the Data Center sector stakeholders because Quark has often served as an early indicator of what will happen in the next years. I want to tell you that this year we have broken all the expectations we had and we have carried out projects that will represent an investment in Spain during the next year of around 200 million euros. Therefore, I encourage all manufacturers, integrators and contractors to have a bit of optimism, because it seems that at the end, the investment cycle in our sector comes to Spain and not only that, we know that will go beyond considering the agreements we are reaching for the future.
