As anticipated by its management team during 2017, the company has broken all its records in 2018, carrying out projects for the Data Center sector that add up to an IT power of 45 MW. This figure has never been reached by any Spanish engineering company in a single fiscal year and places Quark among the main European actors in the design of Data Centers.

The announced explosion of the Madrid region as an international hub for Colocation operators has undoubtedly contributed to this fact, thanks to the recent improvement in its connectivity brought about by the three new submarine cables that reach the Iberian Peninsula. For Quark, this has meant the design of 20 MW of new IT power available in the city, making this figure an unprecedented milestone in our industry.

On the other hand, the design of the largest Colocation Date Center in Africa has been especially relevant, and we will provide more information about it in the near future.

This year, Quark consolidates its leadership in the design of Colocation Data Centres, which represent 85% of the new installed power and confirm the international trend of outsourcing services as opposed to the corporate Data Centre.

It is worth mentioning that six Greenfield Data Center projects have been developed throughout the year, which demonstrates the great capacity and productivity of our design teams, following the significant investment in technology made by the company in previous years.

All of projects developed throughout the year entail an investment by our clients in the facility area of more than 360 million euros, which shows the importance of Quark’s work in the order backlog of the different players in the sector, such as manufacturers, installers and contractors.

For Quark, this year is undoubtedly the reference to follow in the coming years, in which we will continue trying to improve the quality of our services through investment in training and new software tools, as well as the incorporation of more highly qualified staff, which will bring new approaches to our way of working.
